About the Company – One World Together C.I.C

One World Together is a new UK-based organisation that is driving change for people and planet by supporting community action in the UK and globally. It does this by mobilizing Global Citizens and partners for change around affordable micro-donations at scale. One World Together pools these donations and transforms them into long-term, predictable and completely flexible funding for its community partners in the UK and globally. A start-up social enterprise, we are ready to grow our movement through ‘The New 1%’ campaign launching in June 2025.

About the Position

As a Storytelling & Solidarity Communications Intern, you’ll work closely with the Head of Individual Giving to help shape the way One World Together shows up in the world. You’ll lead the creation of story packages, campaign content, and a messaging strategy that brings visibility to community voices and flips charity narratives upside down.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Create 6 multimedia ‘story packages’ highlighting OWT’s impact and philosophy

  • Each includes: one-page story, blog post, email copy, social media assets, video reels, and a campaign calendar

  • Collaborate with the team to develop a storytelling strategy that inspires global citizens

  • Amplify the voices of grassroots partners and challenge traditional aid messaging

  • Translate impact into engaging digital campaigns across platforms

  • Contribute to an evolving narrative that builds trust and mobilizes people toward solidarity-based giving

Job requirements

About You

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Communications, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields

  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to convey values through storytelling

  • Comfortable using tools like Canva, working independently, and co-creating in teams

  • Passionate about rethinking global development and the ethics of giving

  • You understand or are eager to explore the shortcomings of traditional charity models

  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus

  • Experience in digital campaigning, social media content creation, or community engagement is a bonus

Your Benefits

  • Play a core role in shaping the public voice of a global movement

  • Work directly with leadership and contribute to strategic storytelling

  • Be part of a startup-style social enterprise disrupting the norm

  • Mentorship and guidance from a passionate and values-driven team

  • Participation in the InTent Internship Kick-Off (mid-July) and the Geneva Summit (end of September)

  • Join a global community of like-minded students who are passionate about making a real difference—challenging the status quo to create a more sustainable future for our planet and society

Your Application

Alongside your CV, please provide short (max. 200 words each) answers to the following two questions:

  1. Why do you believe that our new model for citizen-led philanthropy rooted in solidarity can change the world?

  1. If you had a 60-second elevator ride with one of our 4 community partners, how would you explain why you want to work for OWT and what excites you most about the role?
